Shopify is updating its system to deliver a more optimised and seamless checkout experience for customers and merchants. To ensure DPO continues providing the best-in-class payments gateway on Shopify, we have developed a brand new DPO Group plugin for Shopify. The new DPO Group plugin is custom-built to ensure your customers get an optimal checkout experience when shopping online.
To get the new DPO Group plugin for Shopify, you can add it now from the Shopify App Store and follow the instructions below to activate and set it up. Once the new plugin is active, you will need to deactivate the old DPO Payments integration. Don’t worry; switching the two will only take a few minutes, and we’ll walk you through the process below.
How to upgrade to the new DPO Group plugin for Shopify
STEP 1: Go to https://apps.shopify.com/dpo-group and click the Add app button.
STEP 2: Click the green Install app button on the top right corner of the screen.
STEP 3: On the configuration page, enter your DPO Group Credentials; these will be the exact details you set up for the previous Shopify API. Now click the Save Settings button.
STEP 4: Select the card icons you want to enable, then click the Activate DPO Group button.
STEP 5: We can now deactivate the old API gateway. Navigate to Settings -> Payments -> DPO Payment and click Manage.
STEP 6: Now click on the Deactivate DPO Payment button and confirm by clicking the second Deactivate DPO Payment button in the pop-up.
STEP 7: To set your Shopify orders to be marked as paid once an order has been paid, navigate to Settings -> Payments -> Payment capture and click the Manage button.
STEP 8: Select Automatically capture payment for orders and click the Save button.
All done! You now have access to the new and improved DPO Group plugin for Shopify.
Shopify has set a deadline of 31 July 2022 for their merchants to upgrade to a Payments App that meets their new requirements. If you don’t upgrade your Shopify integration before this date, you may be at risk of being unable to accept payments through DPO.
