Have questions about Easy Scan?

DPO Pay Easy Scan enables you to pay easily through a QR code, where your device reads the merchant’s QR code and prefills their details, leaving you to enter the amount and confirm the transaction. This is very convenient for customers because they no longer need to worry about carrying cash or credit cards, or searching for their bank account details on their phone and typing them in manually. They can simply scan the code and pay using their preferred method of payment.
Easy Scan is available under payments menu at the bottom of the screen.
New Merchants – Yes. For new merchants, they can register and request for QR code only via email: [email protected].

Existing merchants do not require to re-register. Details on file will be used for the setup.

  • All merchants are eligible to take up the Easy Scan solution.

  • Note: The solution is not integrated to any software and works as a stan alone channel

Card payments and Mobile money.

Customer Journey

  1. Customer scans the code using their phone camera (Must be connected to the Internet)
  2. The scan redirects to the DPO Pay system
  3. The customer fills in all the personal details and amounts to pay.
  4. Selects the mode of payment
  5. Agrees to Terms and Conditions
  6. Continues to pay.

For merchants

Merchants can print additional QR codes for walk-in customers.

Easy Scan allows customers to make payments via mobile money in these easy steps

  • After selecting the mobile money as a customers preferred payment option:
    1. A customer can then input the amount and select their mobile money provider
    2. The customer will then input their mobile number and receive an STK push to input their PIN or instructions to complete payment (depending on their mobile money provider) and complete their payment.

Easy Scan allows customers to make payments via card in these easy steps

  • After selecting card as a customers preferred payment option
    1. A customer will input their card details, which include email address, full name, account number, expiry date & CVC (Card Verification Code)
    2. Some customers may then receive a One Time Pin to authenticate and complete their payment.

As a new merchant, you can sign up for QR Code payments through our website https://dpogroup.com/products/easy-scan/ and then go to Instant Sign Up to fill in required information for the DPO Pay team to review if your business qualifies for QR Code payments.

You will be able to identify one of our merchants when you walk into their premises and see their branded QR Code with our logo. Look out for the DPO Pay logo at the bottom of the QR code.
No, ATM PIN is not required to complete the Easy Scan transaction. All you need to do input the necessary required information as specified above for either mobile money or card payment.
Cards payments will be settled 2 days after the transaction while mobile money payment will settled after 1 day.
Card payments will be charged a commission of 2% (exclusive of VAT)

Safaricom’s MPESA transactions will be charged 0.5% (exclusive of VAT).

Airtel Money (Kenya) will be charged 0.5% (exclusive of VAT).
